"Candelight Red" @ Harrisburg Hardware Bar - January 4, 2009 - Nikon D90 - Mark Teicher : Candlelight Red is the culmination of two central PA bands with a long history merged into one. Bassist Adam Zimmer and Drummer Josh Hetrick were the rhythm section to the State College based band "Stept On". Stept On pounded the PA music scene and made the local airwaves with two exciting ep's and had bands like national recording artists "Halestorm" and "Breaking Benjamin" opening for them as well as opening for nationals. After the band called it a day in 2006 the two decided to join forces with guitarist Jeremy Edge who had recorded 4 cds with a band that went by the name of "Backstreet Law" and later changed it's name to "Til December". After opening for many national acts and making appearances .. Jagermeister Musictour shows as well as many showcases, that band too had decided to disband. Out of the ashes came Candlelight Red. After many months of rehearsing and writing, vocalist Greg Locke came in. Greg, who had worked with Adam and Josh before, added his soulful and powerful singing to the mix of heavy riffs, melody and dynamics and both old and new school metal and rock sounds. Candlelight Red have spent since the summer of 2008 introducing their sound to clubs all over central PA, NY and Ohio. Not to be defined as only the descendants of their previous bands, CLR offer a sound that is new and innovative. Upbeat and adrenaline filled as well as melodic. Founder Kurt Manderbach has over twenty years of experience as a lead singer and pro bassist. He has played in a nine piece R&B band, casino style top 40 band, done numerous pick up gigs as a singer or bassist, and spent the last twelve years in the Fuzzy Bunny Slippers playing in the best venues and entertaining large crowds. His most recent acoustic projects have a harmony-driven vocal sound that adds a new and exciting flair to his diversity as an entertainer. Guitarist Mark Ludwig has worked off and on with Kurt since the late 80’s, and spent the last five with him in the Fuzzy Bunny Slippers. His easy going nature and enormous talent adds the musical foundation for the band. He has taught hundreds of students over the years and his ability to play classical guitar as well as jazz, rock, and blues makes him the perfect fit for any situation. Space guitarist BJ Huss to begin recording sessions for a one-off studio project. Eventually the studio project fizzled, but the guys enjoyed playing together and began booking shows, eventually hooking up with Chris Altland to hold down the bass duties and also tapped Tim White to play guitar. The first show the band played was at the nationally renowned Village Nightclub in Lancaster. Sugarcoat released their first six song EP, "Bed Head On Picture Day", recorded in 2005 at Two Trees Sound Studio in Farmersville PA. The CD is now available at Tower Records, CDBaby.com, 2500 retail outlets nationwide through Super D distribution, at CD Warehouse stores all through the central Pennsylvania area, and at the bandʼs live performances. Digital distribution includes Yahoo! Music, FYE, Tower.com, Virgin, Verizon wireless V-Cast, and Appleʼs iTunes. The band is making a donation to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund for every CD sold. Their second full-length offering, co-produced by the band and Marshall Deasy and mastered by Tom Baker (Deftones, Velvet Revolver, Stone Temple Pilots, Nine Inch Nails) is slated for release in November 2008. The band will spend most of 2009 touring in support of their self-titled full-length album. Sugarcoat has two songs, "Sugarcoated Fake" and "Down", from the new CD currently in rotation on 105.7 WQXA FM (The X) and on 97.3 WRVV (The River) and are working to get even more stations to spin the tunes. By 2009 they will have singles in rotation in 50 radio markets across the United States. Sugarcoatʼs music is best described as catchy modern rock with a killer rhythm section, hook-laden melodies and three-part vocal harmonies. Digital distribution includes Yahoo! Music, FYE, Tower.com, Virgin, Verizon wireless V-Cast, and Appleʼs iTunes. The band is making a donation to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund for every CD sold. Their second full-length offering, co-produced by the band and Marshall Deasy and mastered by Tom Baker (Deftones, Velvet Revolver, Stone Temple Pilots, Nine Inch Nails) is slated for release in November 2008. The band will spend most of 2009 touring in support of their self-titled full-length album. Sugarcoat has two songs, "Sugarcoated Fake" and "Down", from the new CD currently in rotation on 105.7 WQXA FM (The X) and on 97.3 WRVV (The River) and are working to get even more stations to spin the tunes. By 2009 they will have singles in rotation in 50 radio markets across the United States. Bassist Adam Zimmer and Drummer Josh Hetrick were the rhythm section to the State College based band "Stept On". Stept On pounded the PA music scene and made the local airwaves with two exciting ep's and had bands like national recording artists "Halestorm" and "Breaking Benjamin" opening for them as well as opening for nationals. After the band called it a day in 2006 the two decided to join forces with guitarist Jeremy Edge who had recorded 4 cds with a band that went by the name of "Backstreet Law" and later changed it's name to "Til December". After opening for many national acts and making appearances .. Jagermeister Musictour shows as well as many showcases, that band too had decided to disband. Out of the ashes came Candlelight Red. After many months of rehearsing and writing, vocalist Greg Locke came in. Greg, who had worked with Adam and Josh before, added his soulful and powerful singing to the mix of heavy riffs, melody and dynamics and both old and new school metal and rock sounds. Candlelight Red have spent since the summer of 2008 introducing their sound to clubs all over central PA, NY and Ohio. Not to be defined as only the descendants of their previous bands, CLR offer a sound that is new and innovative. Upbeat and adrenaline filled as well as melodic. While the City of Johnstown serves as the hub of the rally, related events take place throughout the entire Johnstown Region. Vendors offering a variety of leather products, cleaning products, helmets, stickers, accessories, jewelry and other goods will be located in three downtown areas, including Central Park, lower Main Street, and parking lots adjacent to the train station. Central Park and the Train Station will also have live musical entertainment with bands playing rock, oldies, blues, country and jazz. The rally attracted the participation of many local motorcycle dealers including Harley-Davidson, Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda, Kawasaki, Triumph and BMW. Many will host their own events at their dealerships. Several manufacturers have more recently become involved with the event. In 2007, Harley-Davidson, Yamaha and KYMCO offered new product displays and demo rides. The Johnstown Convention & Visitors Bureau encourages bikers to come to Johnstown earlier in the week because there are many tourist attractions worth visiting and numerous scenic roads to ride. Attractions in downtown Johnstown include the Johnstown Flood Museum, which tells the shocking story of the Great Johnstown Flood of 1889, in which 2,209 people were killed when a 40-foot high wall of water and debris traveled 14 miles through the valley into Johnstown, sweeping away everything in its path. Space guitarist BJ Huss to begin recording sessions for a one-off studio project. Eventually the studio project fizzled, but the guys enjoyed playing together and began booking shows, eventually hooking up with Chris Altland to hold down the bass duties and also tapped Tim White to play guitar. The first show the band played was at the nationally renowned Village Nightclub in Lancaster. Sugarcoat released their first six song EP, "Bed Head On Picture Day", recorded in 2005 at Two Trees Sound Studio in Farmersville PA. The CD is now available at Tower Records, CDBaby.com, 2500 retail outlets nationwide through Super D distribution, at CD Warehouse stores all through the central Pennsylvania area, and at the bandʼs live performances. Digital distribution includes Yahoo! Music, FYE, Tower.com, Virgin, Verizon wireless V-Cast, and Appleʼs iTunes. The band is making a donation to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund for every CD sold. Their second full-length offering, co-produced by the band and Marshall Deasy and mastered by Tom Baker (Deftones, Velvet Revolver, Stone Temple Pilots, Nine Inch Nails) is slated for release in November 2008. The band will spend most of 2009 touring in support of their self-titled full-length album. Sugarcoat has two songs, "Sugarcoated Fake" and "Down", from the new CD currently in rotation on 105.7 WQXA FM (The X) and on 97.3 WRVV (The River) and are working to get even more stations to spin the tunes. By 2009 they will have singles in rotation in 50 radio markets across the United States. Sugarcoatʼs music is best described as catchy modern rock with a killer rhythm section, hook-laden melodies and three-part vocal harmonies. "Candlestick Red" @ West Shore Hardware Bar - January 17th, 2009 - Nikon D90 - Mark Teicher : Candlelight Red is the culmination of two central PA bands with a long history merged into one. Bassist Adam Zimmer and Drummer Josh Hetrick were the rhythm section to the State College based band "Stept On". Stept On pounded the PA music scene and made the local airwaves with two exciting ep's and had bands like national recording artists "Halestorm" and "Breaking Benjamin" opening for them as well as opening for nationals. After the band called it a day in 2006 the two decided to join forces with guitarist Jeremy Edge who had recorded 4 cds with a band that went by the name of "Backstreet Law" and later changed it's name to "Til December". After opening for many national acts and making appearances .. Jagermeister Musictour shows as well as many showcases, that band too had decided to disband. Out of the ashes came Candlelight Red. After many months of rehearsing and writing, vocalist Greg Locke came in. Greg, who had worked with Adam and Josh before, added his soulful and powerful singing to the mix of heavy riffs, melody and dynamics and both old and new school metal and rock sounds. Candlelight Red have spent since the summer of 2008 introducing their sound to clubs all over central PA, NY and Ohio. Not to be defined as only the descendants of their previous bands, CLR offer a sound that is new and innovative. Upbeat and adrenaline filled as well as melodic. "Candelight Red" @ West Shore Hardware Bar - January 16th, 2009 - Nikon D90 - Mark Teicher : Candlelight Red is the culmination of two central PA bands with a long history merged into one. Bassist Adam Zimmer and Drummer Josh Hetrick were the rhythm section to the State College based band "Stept On". Stept On pounded the PA music scene and made the local airwaves with two exciting ep's and had bands like national recording artists "Halestorm" and "Breaking Benjamin" opening for them as well as opening for nationals. After the band called it a day in 2006 the two decided to join forces with guitarist Jeremy Edge who had recorded 4 cds with a band that went by the name of "Backstreet Law" and later changed it's name to "Til December". After opening for many national acts and making appearances .. Jagermeister Musictour shows as well as many showcases, that band too had decided to disband. Out of the ashes came Candlelight Red. After many months of rehearsing and writing, vocalist Greg Locke came in. Greg, who had worked with Adam and Josh before, added his soulful and powerful singing to the mix of heavy riffs, melody and dynamics and both old and new school metal and rock sounds. Candlelight Red have spent since the summer of 2008 introducing their sound to clubs all over central PA, NY and Ohio. Not to be defined as only the descendants of their previous bands, CLR offer a sound that is new and innovative. Upbeat and adrenaline filled as well as melodic. "Odd Thomas" @ Harrisburg Hardware Bar - January 17th, 2009 - Nikon D90 - Mark Teicher : Odd Thomas is a three-piece high-energy rock band. While their sound is completely their own, you can hear hints of powerhouse bands such as Chevelle, Foo Fighters, U2, Deftones, and many more. Odd Thomas is a powerful union of Pennsylvania-area bands. Mike and Bob hail from the original band Drives Like Fire, a modern rock band that played throughout England, Germany, and later made it's home in Eastern PA. Kenny had a decade-long stint with the Eastern PA favorites: Tribal Vision, a hard-rock mix of covers and originals that blew up every crowd they played for. These three gents come together to form one of the most entertaining bands around. Their sound is a mix of rock energy and melodic pop that has wowed crowds around the PA/OH/MD area.
